A sleep disorder is a medical disorder of sleep patterns. Many sleep disorders are serious enough and can interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functions of life.
Disruptions in sleep are caused by a variety of issues including grinding of the teeth grinding to bad dreams. Suffering from difficulty in sleeping that has no obvious cause, it is insomnia. Sleep disorders may also cause hypersomnia, sufferers to sleep excessively. Management of sleep disturbances that are secondary to medical, mental, or substance abuse disorders should focus on the following conditions.
Sleep problems including snoring, insomnia, sleep deprivation, and restless leg syndrome, are common among millions of Americans. It is important to understand why sleep is necessary for optimal health, how the natural hormone melatonin affects sleep and wakefulness, and how the different states and stages of sleep impact the way of life, the quality of sleep, the quantity of sleep and even dreams in your sleep.
